I've had a few private messages from members asking why this forum has to close or be locked when the new OSS site goes live on the 6. July.
It has been suggested by those who have responsibility for OSS, that this forum could continue, but not under the OSS Banner.
What do members think, is there room for another forum for the older Suzuki motorcycle?
It Would be a waste of bandwidth if it was just the same of OSS, maybe this forum could be a softer version, not too strict on the type or age of bike, maybe anything over 15 years.
The forum would also need a new name, suggestions?
Maybe this is all a bit daft asking. Everyone here joined an OSS site, so if that's what's wanted, everyone should be happy to transfer over to the new site and new forum.
I welcome your views, as it's your forum.

Keeping all the info in one place would be the easiest I guess. Otherwise you get the same issues as this forum and FB.

Apart from the closely guarded name. There already is another forum, it's called "Old Skool Performance" which I believe was also set up as a spin off from this one, due to the petty nature of how things went which contributed to its demise in the first place. Or am I just remembering things incorrectly. Seriously though, I;m not sure that would work out long term. I can see a handful of members contributing but always feeling like it's in competition with the "real OSS". There would probably be plenty of this going on....

You car`nt please all the people all the time. Give the new site time to settle down, before this becomes relative.

Maybe that should read "Everyone here joined an OSS site that wasn't ruled with an iron rod and turning into a stand off between factions. One with a little more leeway in relation to newer but related models" ? If people are expected to be herded like sheep to a new site then they should be told exactly what the deal is. At the moment we are just being told we must move to a new site that has heavy connections with the old one........... the one that turned into a bitchfest with people taking their ball and going home. On a more personal level, I don't like being told what I should do, and, what I should be happy with. BDR59

nobody is told what to do, everyone is free to join (and leave) whatever forum they want.
There is only one real OSS site and it's not this one.

I presume you mean the old one................ the one that died.
The content of the old site was very good but the infighting was not.
If people are asking/expecting/hoping we move to the resurrection of the failed,
Tell us what the deal is.

OSS is what it is!! Anybody else remember the transition from Robbie Nitroz to OSS and also the GS4 web forums? Not without their issues, these things seem to take a while to settle.

I would just like to know what the requirements were for being able to resurrect the old site. What has been agreed re: Ethos. Parameters. Outlook. Etc.
If people know the deal, they can make informed decisions.
It all just seems a bit "cloak and dagger" to me at the moment. The forum is being moved by A few without asking the consent of the populus.

NB: I am not for or against the move. I can't be, I don't know what is on the table.

Correct me if i'm wrong but hasn't oldschool performance wound up now? If so then you may want to explore the reasons why. Being a relatively new member/simpleton i don't know the history of what's gone on in the past and don't understand what all this split camp shite is about. Seems a keyboard is the modern day colt 45 and creates legendary gunslingers every day. It's a mororcycle forum ffs has anyone not seen the news and what's happening to this country? Rant over but can be continued if need be lol

OSP certainly got to the point of it's last breath but has enjoyed a minor rally in the last few weeks. If this continues is, as yet, an unknown.
Yes, you are right that there are greater things in the world, many of which I can't change or make my voice heard to affect change. On a forum I can have a little voice, say what I think is fair/reasonable/honest and try and be helpful. I want to hear what other people have to say and discuss.
I don't have a gun, just 2 ears and 1 mouth, and I ain't hearing much.

I'm not a member on osp but if it's getting a second wind that's great news. It's to be hoped fair /reasonable/honest is what everyone is striving for, seen enough dishonesty in 36 years of mining. Pull together guys!

While it's true this forum could continue to run there would be some strict cavets in place.
1.The name would have to change. 2.All logos and devices associated with the URL oldskoolsuzuki.info would have to be removed. 3.Any and all references to oldskoolsuzuki.info or OSS or inference that the site was associated with oldskoolsuzuki.info would not be possible. 4.All and any merchandise bearing the above logos and devices could no longer be sold via the site.
In short as long as the site made no attempt to pass itself off as OSS the site and all who sail in it are free to carry on as before.
In the last week we have spoken to both Mr 711 and PP ( the founders of OSS)and both are very happy with the direction we have taken OSS in. That is why the ownership of the URL was signed over to the us. Suffice to say the URL was not surrendered to the pinboards forum. I think that speaks for itself. Whatever it is you have here it is not OSS. So in short do what you like, say what you like, ride what you like but you won't be doing it under an OSS banner.
For clarity.

So that then means no link to info on this site as it's nothing to do with oss? Saying this has/was/is nothing to do with oss imo is a little ott. It's just we all prefere this to crapbook.
