Hi Folks,
What diameter is a slingshot front axle and what other suzukis are the same (ie WC, SRAD, GSXF etc) as i am looking out for a spare to machine down for a front end swap. Also, does anyone know what the thread size is as i need to make a fork insert (for ZX10 forks) to take it and will need to buy the right size tap set.
Cheers all
Slingy

What wheel are you putting on the ZX10 forks? Slingshot? A good few radial front ends have 25mm axle. You can swap the slingshot wheel bearings for 6005 bearings and matching seals. They're 47mm outer, same as the slingy original item but have a 25mm inner. Shout be able to use the ZX10 axle and locknut top hat thingy. Few spacers for the wheel and discs to get them in the right alignment.

Yep, so zx10r forks in gsxr750m tripples so they will bolt straight in. Then, I don't have the zx10r axle and I want to keep the gsxr speedo drive so I am thinking, make up a threaded insert for the left leg to take the original axle. If this insert protrudes through the fork bottom by 1mm it will centre the wheel with the stock speedo drive and spacers. The inbuilt spacer on the right side of the axle is about 27.5mm in diameter so this can be turned down to 25mm and will clamp in the right leg once tight. This then leaves the discs. They end up to narrow by 6mm OA. So 3mm either side. Is this ok to just clamp a 3mm spacer behind the disc? Do you need different disc bolts or any thing. Or could I use a 2mm spacer and except the discs being 1mm out which would equate to one set of pistons being 0.5mm further out, and one set of pistons being 0.5mm further in for each caliper than normal? Oh, calipers are 2013 radial zx6r nissin monoblocks. Very nice :-) checked radius's and are perfect without spacing for the 310 mm gsxr discs.

Anyone got any advice on the disc spacing? I would rather only space 2mm, as I feel the less it us the better. But open to advice from those who have first hand experience.

2mm or 3 doesnt matter, the wheel has to be balanced with spacers and discs.
