So the search goes on...
found a dead GSXR750K DOT engine with 23,000kms and poor compression. Hoping the head will still be OK but would appreciate any warnings beforehand.
I have brand new GSXR 1100K cams in my '99 B12 now and to be honest I don't like it. All that down low torque is missing. BOO! Thinking of throwing the exhaust cam back in or seeing what a DOT head will do. I want to recover some of that low down lunge though, not throw even more power up high. Will a DOT head give me the compression I need to recover the low-mid range?
I know a ported/polished B12 head is the better option but it's not an option for me at this time. My options are re-install exhaust cam or fit DOT head. Would appreciate advice for either option.
Cheers!

A bit low power, mostly mid/high. Porting also for not for low

But if cheap, buy it and sell it in parts lol

Torque is basically a measure of how well an engine breathes, so you want low end airflow to make it where you want it. The hike in compression will be good but to improve cylinder filling i'd downsize the carbs to 34's to speed up the airflow which, with the cams, should give better cylinder filling at low to mid range rpm. But don't moan if it returns sub 100hp top end!

Ah... well, perhaps it would be better to just throw the exhaust cam back in until I am ready for a 1216 kit. Don't want/need new carbs.
Just thought a boost in compression would recover that delicious torque down low.
