Yeah but your example RC51 injectors are flowing about 220-240cc at a guess for 200hp, that ain't much! Most of the modern injectors are Hi Imp and can flow plenty, its the mapping resolution that helps determine the quality low down then use ignition timing to smooth the idle?

programmed the first setup btw. You want keep sleeves? Why not nikasil coating?

I'm no engineer but would guess the steel sleeves add rigidity to the block + using coated bores with a 'flexible' block AND no liquid cooling may end in tears? Who's gonna try it then? LOL

Rigidity because of sleeves? Don´t think so. GSX1400 also has no sleeves and no water cooling.

Rigidity because of sleeves? Don´t think so. GSX1400 also has no sleeves and no water cooling. True - but its designed to work without them so no doubt the casting is thicker where required! Take the sleeves out of a Gixxer barrel and there is virtually nothing between 1-2 and 3-4!

The GSX 1400 barrels are closer together than the Gixxer ones (?), so less meat there. Or may be I misunderstand? I thought he want mill his own barrels, so he doesn´t has to mill out the holes for the sleeves...

Rigidity because of sleeves? Don´t think so. GSX1400 also has no sleeves and no water cooling. XJR1300 is another example of no water and no sleeves. And it's head is not even oil cooled - only air. Nicasil coating is a fine invention. Better cooling, less wear, and less piston clearance could be used because of aluminium's thermal properties are different from the iron sleeve.

darton sleeves would allow more boost and better sealing and rigidity... looking like a intriguing project chris..

IMO think perhaps 8:1 cr is too low even for a turbo, 9.5:1 would improve the low down torque and require less boost pressure for top end power. Its interesting with such long runners that you've opted to inject at the back of the plenum. Wouldn't this increase likelyhood of fuel "dropping out"? With a well sized turbo that boosts from low down, the need for long runners is pretty much negated as you will have excess fuel/air in the runners anyway (If there wasn't there'd be no boost pressure). Just a thought Will be interested to see how this turns out........... Any reason why as to using mega squirt opposed to say DTA which has proper launch rev control as well as shift cut? Steve

I totally agree on the intake design...
Mega/Micro-squirt has all of these.. launch control, shift cut, overboost protection, boost control and so much more... And If I need some more electrical in- or outputs, I just make it have it. It also all depends on the firmware you applied..

Seems MS3 has upped the game a bit, more comparable to the likes of DTA.... Though there is a load of contradictions across the website. I am in a fortunate position of having MS, Emerald and Trigger Wheels all on my doorstep, so once the time comes to purchase a nice shiny Garrett, will be knocking on their doors

its been a while. i still hav'nt finished the block. been flat out on all sorts of bits and bobs.
just bought a gt2860, its not a disco potato, but the flanges and everything are the same, so i can build the kit and then buy a proper disco potato later on.
i finished the ali fuel cell, need to try it on the bike some time.
next thing will be the headers. im trying to find someone near me who will lend me a bandit frame for a bit, so i can stick a bare motor in it at work to make the headers. then will start on the plenum and stuff.

the collector going into the flange is messy because i only wanted to work out what bends and stuff i need. just need to make sure it clears the back of the front wheel and the 2 frame tubes. will do some measuring tomorrow and order the bits on monday.

why are you going to fuel injection ? are there problems using carbs?
