ayup all looking for some links/info on dot head or just dot head cams onto b12 whats involved in both options? cheers paul Smae question differst forum... I cant be arsed to write it all out again so ive copied it, OK?? The so called DOt head and cams were only fitted to the gsxr 750 j/k 88/89, the head was also fitted to various years of T pot's, not sure of the years, but the cams were milder one. they were never fitted to the 750m or any 1100's very easy to spot, the DOT is a casting mark on the right of the head at the front... ive done 2 bandit 12's with dot cams/heads, the first one I did, first had just the cams and had it dyno'd at 122 rwhp up from 100ish, after seting up proprly, it had k&n pods and a home made stubby can, it went really well and rev like fek but the mid range was much less. So then I stuck the head on as well as the cams and got 133 rwhp on the same dyno after settting up,, that improved the mid range as well. it was a really good engine, but stupidly i sold the lot several years ago, Matts got it, so it wont see the light of day again :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: just be aware of the carb petrol tap interface problem with then dot head as the inlet tract is much steeper that the b12... :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

anyone got the valve clearances to hand? cheers paul I set timing and valve clearances as b12, no idea what they are off top of head, u need to use the plate from the b12 cam chain tunnel and the bandit rocker cover , instead of an expensive pinged tap for the clearance issue I used a fazer 600 tap, clears carbs no bother

x you need the b12 cover as there is no cahin guide along the top on the dot head one, you can drill 2 x 6 mm holes and fit one from a b12 cover if you like but a 1200 coave rfits justa as well

valve clearances are the same for almost all oil cooled fours, only the ones with shims (750M and 1100M/N and some Teapot 600's) are different. And the Powerscreen 1100 (both intake and exhaust 0,10-0,15mm).

I found the biggest problem was the fuel tap hitting the carbs, I used a pingle which is located differantly, some clever sod on here has modifed a tap off of an FZR somthing for a few pence
