Nice work, it's going to be a cracker when finished. I enjoy seeing the fruits of other people's labour and cash, but it makes me want to rip up the ET and get creative which is a bad thing because I want to/should restore it to completely standard trim.

Firstly I'd like to take the opportunity to apologise in front of everyone to Porky for how long its taking me to get this finished & thank him for his understanding & patience. Most of you know the reasons for this & I found out the hard way that a combination of trying to get my head back in the right place, finish other peoples frames, build my 711 & being hellishly busy in my main full time job means that quite a lot gets done but nothing gets finished. Anyway, I've long since not touched my 711 because trying to do two frames at once doesn't work for me & this is the last push to get Porky's frame finished & back to him so that he can start his final build. Playing catch up on pics... Steering lock delete & restoring a missing side stand spring peg...

(Chain cuts continued) Next I sectioned some tube into quarters & welded then in place to form the the 'top' & 'bottom' curved edges of the two sections (above & below the swingarm pivot).
Cut some 'half moons' placed them into the half frames tubes against the curved edges & tac'd in place.

(chain cuts continued) This takes ages !! Sectioned some smaller tube & used that to build up a honeycomb like structure bracing between the half moons fitted in the step above.

(chain cuts continued) Using 3mm thick steel I cover over the honeycomb, use a file to take off the high spots to make sure the steel plate sits flush all the way across.
Part of the job is to grind all the welds back so it all looks seamless...
