You sir are a metal god! Wat tool do you use for grinding down the welds? Keep up the good work! I've a mini air grinder (Kobe) that takes 50mm sanding discs, use that for probably 2/3rds of it, the rest is a good ole half round hand file. What complicates the job is that when doing any welding I've either got 'just' the swingarm spindle or the swingarm itself in place to stop the left hand side of the frame around the pivot moving out of true. The job would take even longer if you let it cool, remove the arm, grind a few welds, put the arm back in etc.. so tend to leave it in place but does restrict what tools you can use.

Even though Porks wants his frame back he keeps adding to the list and insisted that I add some bracing to the actual headstock. This can be time consuming / fiddly due to how the tank mounts & there not being that much clearance, I didn't really want to be the one to take a hammer to the inside of the tank.... but no need as this seems to be a good solution although I shit you not at one point I was using feeler gauges to check clearance as I little by little I moved the tubes in. Using a ruler edge to show the forces feed into the centre of the start of the other bracing tube & also these 'new' tubes also run approx at the same angle as the main frame downtubes.
Not at lot of room under there...

Ahh yes pics... Steering damper all finished, few pics from different angles as I know this has a bit of interest... Finshed the lock stops but only uploaded a pic of it tac'd in place... Porky's bottom triple clamp had some adjustable stops & my steel tab welded to the bottom of the headstock makes use of them. Back to doing a couple of small bits to the subframe, no pics as yet, then finish mounting the rearsets, rear brake master, shock pre load remote, oil cooler & that's pretty much the frame done. El Porks has a kin onda fuel filler for me to weld into his Katana tank which is going to be emotional even if I double glove & wear barrier cream. Can't believe it's been in my house, at one point I had to segregate it from all the righteous Suzuki parts & put it in a separate room It wasn't but should have used the shiter for that !!

How stiff are those crf steering dampers? Are the stiffer in compression than extension?
