ok, Im sure now that the one I've got is a gixxer 600 06-07, and it meassures exactly 320, so this version will also fit 325 was the maximum, right? at the bottom of this site, is where I found one identical to mine, which is a 600 06-07 : www.saltmine.org.uk/kgb/catalogue.html

I've received my gsxr shock, and it measures 320.. In the advertisment it stated it was a 600 750 k6 k7 shock.. Im really confused.. Fbob, can you tell me if the one I've got here is the same as the ones you've mounted, that did fit? Thats differant to the1000 ones the adjusters is in a differant place, the 1000 ones are 315 mm and ive fitted them to b12 mark 1,s which are 305mm standard, the b6,s are 300ish mm so the one you have is 15mm longer... that will be a bit tight, try it, ive not fited a 600 one to a b6??.....

the b6 mark 1 shock is 300 + or - 5mm.. your shock at 320 is too big, 10mm bigger is about the most you can go without using the centre stand mount instead of the shock mount. the picture is of a b6 frame I used to build a hybrid a while ago, the shock was k7 1000, the linkage was one I had in a box so no idea what its from, you cant get them in the wrong way round as the holes are different sizes ones 10mm ones 12mm. I have always used the gsxr 1000 k7/8 shock in mark 1 600's and 1200's, because they fit. they are also getting bexpensive as people are always buying them to go on bandits.

exactly, 10 and 12 mm, so can't go in the wrong way.. strange thing though, that link is 110% mounted the wrong way around???
Anyways, im looking on making the r6 mod instead, as I don't wan't the bike raised, and avoid needing longer dog bones.. I feel more safe with the idea of the shock being the same lenght, and the link the same angle..
Do you by any chance remember what year the r6 shock you used, was from? It looks like the early ones doesn't have the fork type bottom mount..

No its not the wrong way it not a bandit one, that bike i built 3 or 4 years ago with bits i had, i made it all fit and got dog bones the rright length for thd ride height, like i sadi anything over 10-15 mm longer wil, not fit, cant remember what year the r6 one was but they are all 300 mm just look at the bottom mount to see if its a fork or eye....? BUT dont foget you need to get a hardened steel3 bush made to take up yhe differance between the bolt and the hole in the shock eye. Or just get one that fits properly, like i said a gsxr 1000 k7/8, if you dont like yhe lift in the rear just get 5mm longer dog bones and it will come back to standard.

oh ok, it looked like a bandit one.. Is it the holes in the fork end of the r6 shock that is bigger than the bolt on the bandit? If so, I could just get the needle bearring bushing milled up a size..?

I did try and find a bearing and inner bush but they dont make the right size in standard needle roller bearings, so I just made a new bush 12x17x30 hardened it and used that in the bearing so the 12mm bolt fitted,

By the way, I've just ordered this beauty

you have obviously never tried drilling or milling a suspension bush.. they are hardened,
have ago and let us know how you get on

No I must admit I haven't.. Found these drills called "cobolt", they can drill through special hardened steel, and endure extreme temperatures.. 20 pounds for one 12mm drill

Yup ive loads of cobalt drills, they wouldnt touch a hardened suspension bush, and £20 for a 12mm one is cheap
