Slick 50 engine add, can it be used in motorbike engines as bike engines have a wet clutch unlike a can. Will it f*ck up the clutch plates?
Cheers W.

Put £15 quids in my pocket & I promise you that my snake oil will make your engine run better than putting boring old 'Slick 50' in it.
I can guarantee you this 100%.
My snake oil also cures cancers of all kinds, makes you more attractive to the laydeez, vastly increases the size of your willy and also opens your eyes to several versions of the same old scam !
Either put up your £15 quids now, or get the fuck off off my internets.

Saw a very convincing demo of a product called 'Activ8' and used it in my Pan when working. The chaps had a knurled bobbin spinning in an oil bath the a piece of mild steel attached to a torch wrench that you jammed against the knurled bobbin to stop it. Quite easy when just in the engine oil bath, impossible once the Activ8 was added.
The Pan had 118,000 on it in 15 months and the motor was like new. And was developed to have no effect on our wet clutches. Guess the motor may have been fine just with an oil change every 2 weeks anyway? We all used it though. Haven't used it since, don't do the miles these days....

And Slick 50 shouldn't be used with a wet clutch, although never tried it.

I've always been told your clutch will stop working.

slick50 do a version for bikes with wet clutches. but it strikes me that if something is supposed to cur friction yet allows friction in clutches, then it probably doesnt work. had it once in a car engine, didnt notice any difference between before or after. cant see how it would be better than just changing your oil regularly.

Tried slik50 in a 550 kat over 25 years ago. Back then I had a source of free engine oil and did an oil change every 3 weeks purely cos I could. Did it make any difference? Absolutely no idea! Obviously it wouldn't have harmed the engine but I never noticed my clutch slipping at all.

Think this is one of them situations that we could never confirm the science behind it either way. Why would the oil companies tell you about something like that, they want us all to buy copious amounts of oil and chuck it away as often as posible don't they? I have used Slick 50 (although many years ago) and it was only a 250cc engine, but it was back in my despatching days which is partly why I thought I'd try it out. The bike used to get abused all day in and out of london, in all conditions and all weathers. Never once had a problem with it, it never burnt any oil, started quicker after using putting the stuff in, just seem to spin up easier on the button. I did get a better mileage out of it too, nothing drastic but deffinately better. As for wear, not entirely sure, but as I said it's one of those things we couldn't deny or confirm under private usage I would say. Would I use it again, yes under similar circumstances, where I wanted the bike to run for ever whilst being ridden around all day long as an old work horse. Generally, no.

Slick 50 good, trade descriptions act would stop it being sold if manufacturers claims were unsubstantiated. But, the service interval on my GSX is 2000miles for an oil change. Decent quality oil for 2000m would , for me at least, negate the need to use such additives.
