Evening all
My dr 250 seems to be getting more frequent at locking/jamming on the kick start,
Not had time to strip her and have a proper look but isn't seized as frees off when rocking it in gear and even fires up , but sounds very rough/crunchy
All 6 gears are there and engage
Any ideas where to start poking?
Thanks
Danny

remove the clutch cover and check if everything between the kickstart mechanism and the crankshaft is ok and tight. My guess is that the clutch nut is loose.

check that the shaft going through the cases hasnt corroded or got dirt through the seal and that its not binding on the case.

Stripped her down
Not a loose clutch nut....
Ended stripping and splitting the cases to find cranks shot, need a fly wheel.puller to check but looks like a thrust washer failed??
Any engines ish a straight fit into a DR Frame about? ?
Thanks

Well.. Just replace the crank bearing and you're good to go.. I would however thoroughly check the other bearings and look for swarf in de cases and corse filter before putting everything back together..
