Really its just a few bolts & a couple of wires to drop the motor, you only need a basic tools & maybe a mate to help with the last bit of getting it on the floor I say get on with it man & once you have done it you will wonder what all the fuss was about To put it into perspective on a good day I can drop a motor in a little over an hour on my own providing nothing is seized or otherwise knackered

Today I have removed the engine from a Harley Road King, welded the crankcase and tomorrow morning the bike will be riding again. And after a Harley FLH everything else is easy.
GSX-R's are straightforward, no silentblocks or links or whatever, just a few bolts holding the engine in place. Easy to do with a mate. Just make double sure you disconnected all the wires and stuff before attempting to pull it out.

Its a couple of hours work, not a big deal when you do it with a m8.

I reckon you'll do just fine Rusty, just make sure you don't develop a third b-llock lifting it !

And remember, If you're having to use excessive force or the big hammer, stop, sit back and take a look at what you're trying to do.
Things aren't often designed that you need to smash them with a lump hammer to take them apart.

I swapped my 750 for a 1200 motor. Never done it before just followed the manual. Biggest fear was exhaust studs snapping other than that OK. I'm not that experienced either. Defo helps to have an extra pair of hands helping you though. Biggest mistake I made was taking the engine out and then not coming back to it for 5-6 weeks, obviously I had a sleep and forgot where everything went back so used far TOO many brain cells remembering. Good luck.
