Just been reading on another forum {bandit} that you are not supposed to take oil pumps apart, does not say why? but I always take them apart when doing an engine just to make sure there clean and not worn out. anybody know anything about this.

hi I have taken a couple of gsx ,s ones apart to check on their condition ect and had no problems when the bike,s were back running ,maybe they say this so you wont touch it ,if you put it back together wrong you motor wont last more than a few minutes . on dry sump motors engines can sieze if the oil pump is air locked as they need to be bleed yoshi
