I've just about got all of the parts together to fit a 750M USD front end to my 1987 GSXR1100.
Has anyone who's done this conversion got any advice or pics showing how they've modified the lock stops?
I'm also going to need to lose the standard steering damper. Is a replacement required?
Cheers
Colin

Thanks Huddy. Not sure I would feel comfortable with no lock stops at all though.
Do you run a steering damper with your 750M forks?

The lock stops on my SB6 are just rubber donuts on the forks that contact the frame rails.

Cheers Colin Hi Colin Ive done a couple of fork swaps and its simply a case of cutting off the existing lock stops off the bottom yoke, then working out where you need the new ones. Here i fitted water cooled gixxer forks to my oil cooled gixxer so i had to make and weld on a new lock stop in the required place On my bandit, i fitted gixxer k5 forks and made up these lock stops Hope this helps Rich

Did a similar thing to Rich on my bandit with k5 gsxr forks.Lock stops were fitted so they hit the frame at full lock.Did not have a tab welded to frame neck.Just have to figure out which works best for your situation I guess.

750M forks go straight in, lock stops just needed a small rubber bumper added but I'm using a after market oil cooler and the forks fouled it on lock. You could drill a small hole and tap an allen head in to fill the gap, really easy swap just do it and you'll see.

You can tap the lower triple and not worry about cracking or messing it up? I put 95 Gsxr 750 front end on my 86 1100 and cut off the steering stops. I have a damper but no stops.
