Hi does anyone know what turbos use roller bearings. It's for my gs 1000, I'm not after crazy amounts of power maybe somewhere between 140 - 200 Hp

Thanks for the reply nitro. Is there any particular garrett turbo that would be best suited to my needs?

Yes, IHI makes some ball bearing models too. I have a VF34 which is a very nice turbo but maybe a bit on large side if you aren't looking for more than 200hp. There is some info about other possible models: www.mrtperformance.com.au/VF30-or-VF34Unfortunately IHI doesn't publish much specifications about their turbos...

Googled images would seem to imply that - large dia in's and out's aren't going to be oil!

Are the ihi vf34 turbos water cooled? Yes they are. Like pretty much all ball bearing turbos, as far as I know. But that shouldn't be any problem in typical bike use. The turbo gets so much cooling air flow that there is no need for water cooling. And usually you can't load the engine long enough to get the exhaust housing glowing red
