I keep thinking there isn't much ground clearance on the GSXR1100 exhaust on my gsx750es. What do you guys reckon? Am I worrying about nothing or should I look to get a different exhaust say from a GSXR750? The trouble is I want to keep the original 4-2 look, and there aren't many 4-2 systems about. Sorry about bad pics from phone. Cheers in advance

It depends on what you use the bike for? racing or track should be fine, if its going on the road then get it checked against other similar road bikes. I lowered by bandit for drag racing and took it out on the road, it was fine for most of the time but I hit a bump at 60mph and the bike bottomed out and I nearly was spat off. I would measure the clearance, then go to a bike shop and measure some random road bikes for clearance and see how far out you are.

It will be used on the road, and maybe some track days. Cheers, will measure it when I next get a chance Might have to think about a 4-1 system.

My old harris on my ES was lower than that never had to much trouble. melted through a rubber speed bump in a car park once tho.

Thank you for the replies. I currently have 100mm ground clearance from the floor to the bottom of the exhaust with the bike upright.
I have two exhaust systems on the way to try out, so hopefully will be better.

Yep myn are 750 USD's too. One of the systems I bought didn't give any extra ground clearance, the other one did but required a little modification. A friend modified them for me, so I just need to check the fitment of them now. I will get some pics up soon

How much travel do you have on the suspension? If it's more than the clearance there may be a problem ....

After a bit more fettling and purchasing some collets the headers now fit with increased ground clearance I've just got to finish making the slots slightly longer and paint the headers now. Before I had 100mm of ground clearance and now I have 170mm which is a lot better, the same as a standard height bandit which is 170mm. Not sure on the suspension travel, but should be fine now with the different pipes.
