Just bought a k2 gsxr 1000 off ebay, not seen it yet but hopefully will pick it up tomorrow. Its not mint but it was cheap! Lets hope its not a bag o shite! What do I need to look out for on these? Ive heard the brakes are not the best on these models.

Haha ..... I did & thort the same this time last year when it picked up a K3. Couldn't decide between that or k2 but the radials swung it & the price.
Don't beat my 7/11 for sheet grunt but is a hoot to ride!
Keep one eye on your licence & enjoy!!

drop the oil , and make sure the clutch nut is tight , these where a big problem the clutch basket on a k1/k2 hardly ever turn up second hand as suzuki had a problem with them .
the brakes are not bad but if the rest of the bike is ok , spend money on upgrading to radial front end forks and calipers , braided lines and front brake radial master cylinder . I have done the same on mine its amazing and the spondon ish is still being built but is k1 1000 engine as the heart of the build

I dont think im going to be breaking any land speed records today as it pissing it down here, waiting a bit for the rain to stop before i pick it up. I didnt realise they had a bit of clutch trouble......its not as if anyone would be doing racing starts on them is it smiley-shocked003 but hopefully it should be sorted by now but i will listen out for any strange noises.

There's a mod that can be done to the clutch as they often slip on take off if the revs are just a bit too high (read not that high).
Involves a washer from a Kwaker clutch , can't remember the exact mod off hand but google will tell you.

Thats handy to know about the clutch. Picked bike up and rode it home, the weather was shite! condition of the bike is just how it was described or slightly better.......would of liked it to be a little drier for a more spirited ride home. For the money im well happy at the moment
