My '96 SRAD 750 has a bit of a problem - when it's up to full temp (a good 30-40+ minute ride in this weather), the oil pressure light comes on at idle. Now, I've had the oil pump out and it looks ok (not scored), dropped the sump off and checked the oil pressure check valve, and made sure the gauze filter was clear etc. and all appears fine. As soon as you rev the motor, the light goes out.
Oil was changed fairly recently (Silkolene Super 4) and a genuine Suzuki filter was used.
Is there a proper way to check the oil pump? What else could cause low oil pressure? I'm assuming it won't be the oil pressure switch itself, seeing as the problem only manifests itself when the engine is hot - if it was the switch, wouldn't the problem be there all the time?
Ta in advance for any help!

There will be a service limit for the gap between the rotor/body.

Just downloaded a workshop manual. First job is a pressure test, but if I can't get hold of an oil pressure gauge, I'll whip it out again and give it a check over...! Cheers for the advice!

Actually its more than likely the switch than the pump if you've been good with oil maintenance! The switches trigger at quite low pressure anyway 5-10psi usually and with modern oils being 'thinner' to start with and thinning even more when hot, at idle you get pressures down in the trigger range. The old EFE aircooled motors always suffered with a dim or flickering oil lamp at idle.
