Flamin' 'ell. Shoulda kept the 750. It won't need as much work. Still will watch the revival with interest. Good luck

Right, got my screwdriver and hammer out and started chipping away at this mess Oil leaked since last week Most of it gone from the left side It wasn't wood, must of been a type of filler or something. With silicone and black tape covering some of it Almost there and found the problem smiley-rolleyes008 There is a piece off the bottom where the cover sits against the crankcase and two bolt holes have broken parts Missing chunk and broken bolt hole The other bolt hole which still works with a bolt being tightened up in it The only issue this side was one rounded bolt (hit a socket on it used some plus gas and it came out) and no gasket so was leaking slightly. Oh and the buggered repaired case

Oh and the buggered repaired case You forgot to say badly, think you need to have a proper look round the bike. If that's the standard the previous owner worked to.

I would strip that bike to the last nut & bolt & start again, god knows what else is bodged if thats the way the previous owner worked. A bodge page on here would be good reading

It's great to see that great craftsmanship, attention to detail and safety still exists in the world of motorcycle home maintenance
