89 & 90 1127R use 36 carbs so it shouldn't be a problem, i run em on my 90 i think you should tweak it just a bit more...
even the stationary jets aren't a problem if compared a 36 1100 to a 36 750 carb on the bike

I run stock carbs on my 1168, with Dynojet kit, 138 mains and 160 pilot jet.
I had the same problem last week, between 2-3000 rpm it was like s**t.
After checking the install manual for Dynojet kit I realized that the text says that I have to install small washers on the needle above the E-clip. The drawing shows to put them under the E-clip.
I wrote to Dynojet and they told me to go after the drawing, text is not right. I moved the shall washers from up to down yesterday, and problem is gone!
Anyway if you don't have Dynojet kit, you should run smaller pilot jet, or bigger main jet.

When i was running the bst36's on opens and with a Vance & Hines pro-pipe on my 1100(it is oil-cooled though),i was running 140 mains and needles in the middle. It ran spot-on and ran mid 10's. It pulled all the way through

Just synchronized my mate the carbs, the engine runs perfect now. There was just a little adjustment neccessary and it sounds much better at low rpm now. Especially between 2-3000 where the bike was still a little bit weak...
When did you get your carbs synchronized for the last time???
