Remember, he is talking new calipers inc pads at £250. They're brilliant brakes,feel,power,the lot and you can get various pad options for them AND genuine spare parts that are very affordable. Another good thing is you can take them off when you sell the bike and fit them to the next.

Bluedog is right - they are cheap to run. Ferodo Platinum pads are about a tenner a set, the very soft EBC greens are about 15 quid. Seals are less than a tenner per caliper and pistons about the same and you can get bits in any race paddock. I had the devil of a job getting new pads for the nissins at the MGP paddock (fake EBCs were vibrating and breaking up - the brake lad nearly shit himself when I showed him the pads). I ended up having to fit TZ250 pads for the practice session while the Lockheeds, master cylinder, and discs from Slabby Racer 2 were sent over.
