I am having trouble identifying my oil cooled 750 lump. It has the finger type followers not the shim and bucket type but it has 16 of them as opposed to 8! I am quite the newly to this oil cooled lark but would like to learn. I will call the local Suzuki dealers and plague their parts be-atch with dumb questions as well. Thanks in advance forum peeps!

It looks like an L/M ... The drawing says N because its from a yank site alpahasport, and they were a yaer behind in models. M/N were the last oilcooled ones where as we had L/M

750L didn't have the shim head, only the M (and N in Murica).
Some Teapots also had shims. If the clutch actuator is on the clutch cover (right side) it's a GSX-R750M engine, if it's on the sprocket cover (left) it's a GSX-F engine.
*edit* as far as I know only the Teapot 600 had shims and not the 750.

OOpss...note to self, " do not read posts and reply during boring engineering planning meetings" either pay attention to the meeting or the posts.......

Thank you chaps. Much appreciated. I think I have a 749cc long stroke "M" lump. Its in real quite good nick too. Though I might have to part it out as the price of a full gasket set is making a straight swap with a 600 for my Blandit the most economical option... Boo..!

The start of the engine number should tell you what it is EG N705 (teapot from memory) & the pic looks like the 89F engine i have here
