So, I'm seriously considering a 7-11 build, however I have a couple of questions when it comes to the specs of the 2 bikes.
I need to get an engineers certificate to make this road legal and the damage would be starting at $450 for the piece of paper.
Here is a quick quote and what the engineer is looking for: I plan on fitting FCR carbs and hand made full exhaust at a later date and just use the standard 750 carbs and exhaust for the time being, though I am not 100% sure of the spec differences in the frame, forks and brakes department.
These engines don't seem to come cheap either. First quote I got for the motor was $1150 bare or with electrics and carbs $1450.
I'm not really sure if its worth it to go ahead with it (never rode the 1100 but my 750 seems to be down on power) or just get oversize pistons and rebore the 750. Thoughts?

1100 watercooled frame is a bit reinforced compared to a 750. The swingarm pivot blocks are much thicker and heavier; downtubes have "fish plates" where they're welded on the headstock casting and there are other reinforcements. 1100's also have 5 cm longer swingarm and less rake on the front.
Brakes are almost the same between the 2 models. 94-95 750w's had the same 6 pots at front that 1100w's had, 92-93 750s have basically the same brakes as oil cooled 1100s - with 4 pots. Both are powerful enough to stop the bike. Suspension wise they're also very similar. If I remember correctly they all had a steering damper. Suspension wise there aren't any huge differences in fork tube diameters between the upside down ones.
Cost of the engine depends on where you're located at and who's selling it, I've seen some go at 300-500 € in my area and complete bikes in working condition are around 1000-1500.

Thanks Kris! Always seems to be plenty of top blokes in Estonia
It looks like I'm on my way to get my engineers cert... but it seems I need to find some documentation or detailed photos showing the differences in the frame.
I've been told the 1100 is only 20kg or so heavier and with not much more power either. I'm guessing a lot of the weight is in the twin exhausts. He also said the rake and swing arm length wont be a problem.
However more focus is put on the brakes. I've been told that all I need to show that the 4pot caliper has been used on previous 1100 models (caliper pistons are the same as well as pad surface area, disc diameter etc) then the 750 brakes would be cleared for use.
Any idea where I might be able to find detailed photos of the 1100 frame?
*edit* Thats a sweet looking port job there!

I've been told that all I need to show that the 4pot caliper has been used on previous 1100 models go to www.alpha-sports.com and find the part no. of the brake calipers, you will find out that the GSX-R1100 from '89 uses the same calipers as the 750WN/WP.
