OK so I don't have a lot to share yet, but I'm in the midst of swapping my original front end for a '89 GXSR 1100 unit (K model?) catch is I want to keep my "original" Astralite wheels, Sandy Kosman cast iron rotors and Spondon calipers.
Getting the front wheel off was a breeze with the stand
Also just got the wheel fitted to the forks
Next is fitting the clocks and other fiddley stuff. Caliper adaptor plates etc etc etc. The list just goes on and on.
Oh, By the way, this is it now before new parts attached

New bar clamps and an ignition switch for the GSX-R showed up today! That's always a good thing!

So, My GSX is slowly becoming a GSX-R because I also have this little beauty to add on as time and resources allow! A "dot" head for my GSX 1100!

So, I made some progress over the long weekend. It was a matter of going up to a friend's shop where he has some serious fabrication tools and knowledge to use them. It's always a treat to visit because he has such a cool collection of stuff! including, but not limited to a 500 GAMMA and a Honda RS750! So, on with the business! Secure the front end assembly on the lift and start making hangers out of aluminum Before long we have them roughed in place and it's time to make some spacers to align the calipers in their position Before long we have them mounted up and solid! I still need to source some correct bolts and some other fiddly stuff, but it was another productive week end in the hills!
