Hi, I am restoring a 1977 GS550DB (Spoked wheel, twin discs)and need to replace the front brake caliper pistons. The ones that came off the bike are stamped T32A on the top and are Outer Diameter 38mm and Height 31mm. Having real trouble trying to get a match. All aftermarket ones are OD 38mm but only 22mm high. Thinking of getting the original ones rechromed unless anybody knows where i could get a replacement pair? Many thanks.

Anyone got any other places or info for this problem? Currently restoring a 79 GS 550e and I'm having the same problem trying to locate this 38x31 piston for the front caliper. Tried wemoto as per the link and they don't do one that's the right one. Seems that nearly all retailers only list the 21mm piston for most of the GS range. I was starting to think maybe the bike I'm doing was fitted with different calipers or something, but the schematic drawings for this model agrees with what's on the bike. There must be somewhere that does them, last resort will be having a stainless one made.

No, I contacted wemoto and that's actually a 22mm depth one, picture is just a stock photo. They don't do one that's the right size. Seems that every retailer has the 22mm one for the GS range despite there been more than one type. I have managed to find someone on ebay that makes stainless ones. He has a good knowledge of the different pistons used by suzuki. Sent him some details and pictures and he was able to clarify the type and so has one to supply. Mine also has the T32A marking on the front of the piston and is hollowed out at the back which is a reversed piston apparently. Can't say I knew there were different types. Also used on some of the GT range. Would recommend him for anyone that's struggling. User on ebay is n.chambers53
