the tank is about as low as it can and will be going. it has been chopped about to get it to sit as is. tried it sat lower and it looked wrong to me. rear guard needs tweeking after test and a few other bits will be changed like chain guard will be getting drilled to match sprocket cover and bits like that.
need to find a painter now....

Oh for fooks sake... why has everyone taken my comments completely the wrong way.... jeezus, I like the tank too ok!!!! Fookin 'ell, just prefer to see tanks on chops mounted a different way, that's all... you lot might too but we'll never know will we because:- a) most of you by yer own admission, don't even like chops b) you understand very little about 'em... styling wise c) yer all too busy tryin' to make me look like a cunt Beef seems like a stand up guy who has obviously put a lot of work into his bike... spend more time givin' him yer thumbs up rather than zoomin' in on somethin' I said that was nuthin' more than a personal opinion smiley-rolleyes008

inazooma i wasnt havin a go. was saying i tried it at difdwrwnt heights and this is where it ended up. same with the bars. tried a few different types but like the feel and look of these so they staying for now.
the bike has been built to fit me. hence the bars and tank and location of pegs.
as for colour.. not sure was thinking black but now thinking i .ay go a bit mad with a 70's inspired paint scheme.

as for colour.. not sure was thinking black but now thinking i .ay go a bit mad with a 70's inspired paint scheme. The 60's & 70's were a really innovative time for custom paint.. some very creative people around back then. Was one of those roads that I wanted to got down when I was much younger but life kinda got in the way. Tons of paint techniques to choose from if ya wanna try somethin' from that era.. flames have been done to death but can still look good if you think outside the box. There's some great effects that can be had using the weirdest of things and are not that difficult to do. A piece of cling film held between two people and allowed to rest on a freshly painted area.. looks killer if don't right. Another technique not seen so often these days is created using oxy-acetylene torch turned right down... the sooty smoke makes contact with the paint and can create some interestin' wispy effects. Many 70's paint jobs use a combination of two or more effects... some look a bit over-the-top, some look tasteful and classy. acetylene torchcling filmnot yer usual flamesthick scalloping... and thinfish scalespsychedelic!Just a few pics to whet yer appetite and hopefully inspire.... or you could just go with plain old black... always looks good bikes

have had a think about it. am happy to spray it myself with cans. have done loads of bits. just want a good finish and a decent level of glossy shine.
will have to get the felt tips out and have a bitof a colouring session to knock up some ideas.

Main thing with gettin' a mile deep shine is to cut through the inevitable "orange peel" after the final coat of clear... use at least 2000 grade wet/dry paper (used wet) and watch ya don't rub through to the paint!. Finish with a good T-cutting and polish and jobs a good 'un. Just shout if ya need any help with anythin'.
