Oilcooler setup on my old 1260Kat.. Oilcooler setup on my 1327EFE.. On the current kat I'm using the stock EFE oilcooler that came with the engine.. (needs a bigger cooler though as it gets really hot in city traffic) But before going into more detail better first have a look at the article Kat owner Mike wrote up some time ago: www.theflyingbanana.com/oil-cooler.htm

Really neat and tidy job with the serck cooler mate. like the all silver metal hoses. hate multi coloured anodised stuff, looking to do this to same bike eventually. can you put up measurements of fittings and are the hoses and fittings from serck cheers

I'll see what I can do about measuremnts but can't guarantee if I'll be able to measure them although I can take iot off and take some close up phots which may help. I got this kit years ago from HEL when I lived in the UK. What I do remember is that I spoke to a guy called Simon and he asked some questions about my engine and I remember that he needed this information to enable him to customise this kit for my engine specifically. It is likely to be on record at HEL but this was back in the late nineties when I got this made up. If you want to contact HEL for dimensions you can search under my name ( Simon Guttridge) and I think I was living at 31 Kensington Green, Hough Green, Chester at the time.
The reason that the lines are crossed over like that is the most important reason of all because it looks good, lol.
Actually I had my cooler lowered a little bit and consequently it "splayed" the lines out a little bit and they were sitting too close to my exhaust pipes for my comfort. By crossing them over they have much more clearance from the exhausts and look good too,

Living in SA back in the 80's we had to make do - I used a second hand cooler from a 650 which bolted straight onto the holes on either side of the oil filter. Once the bung was fitted into the hole just inside the filter cover (bottom right I think) the oil flowed through the cooler. Worked fine.
