Cheers Chaos. That is a fantastic tip. So simple that even a pea-brain like me understands! I will definitely be using it. Genius.

You have to turn the plate back ofcourse.
I did it also in the past but I didnt saw sooo much difference, then again the slabby 11 doesnt have the 7k dip as the 750 has

Quite right Kokolis. The 750's dip is pronounced at 7k-ish, I am sure that the inherent grunt on the 11 makes this mod less desirable. But in London, when I unwind it you're slowing down as soon as you reach that point on the rev counter so more midrange would be lovely. I am really looking forward to getting on with it when I next get the time. The spare pickup is now stripped and ready for drilling. Cheers.

Don't bother with the 1100 calipers, no better than the 750 ones What you want is some 4 pot nissins from a slingy, 1100 slabby discs and get an adapter made up to space out the top mount for the calipers. Probably loads of m/cyl options but again a slingy one (with the remote reservoir) is a great improvement. Get that done and you will need to stiffen the front end as the brakes will be much keener Heavier oil and a slightly smaller air gap will help.

This is a much more professional effort that made it around the TT course, mine worked just fine on the road though

Thanks gsxrcol, now that's what I'm talking about! The photos are really helpful. Are the 1100 rotors a simple bolt-on? In respect of the adapter do the fork mounting bolts need any other work? Questions, questions...

Anyone who has not ridden a modern bike , and had the feeling of complete well being when pulling brake lever and bike instantly and controlled comes tooo a stop . Needs to try a radial brake upgrade

wassuck, if I remember rightly, drilled out bottom mount to 10mm and spaced the caliper with a 1mm washer to line up.
The discs go straight on.

Blimey never mind the calipers I'm just trying to find decent radial rubber. Thanks gsxrcol, that's really good info. A friend has some spare 1100 discs I'm hoping so I will be pursuing this mod. However I've got the standard set up working quite well now but the mod will have to happen. On another note all the prep work for the diy 5° ignition advancer has been done in readiness for drilling and slotting the backplate very soon.

Do the brake mod mate, you will not be disappointed. Ran mine for 20 years with std set up, tried pads, new seals and pistons, braided lines, losing the splitter and running lines straight to the calipers etc etc and never got a satisfactory brake. The nissins totally transformed it, proper confidence in stopping

Thanks gsxrcol. I'll be trawling Fleabay in search of the calipers. Master cylinder is alrwady sorted. Discs earmarked I hope, so will be heading down this route. I particularly like the idea of keeping the kit 'in house' Suzuki. Seems somehow right. Quick question though. The 1100 discs have the same bolt hole pattern and spacings?
