I'm not sure if this deserves to be on here as it's not "major modified" but it will be modified eventually so hopefully it counts?
After selling my last project and loosing way too much money ( Bandit 12, flat slides, cams, full system & nitrous) I've been looking for something to tinker with, won this on EBay for the grand sum of £265....,,,,GSX750ES. Bargain?
Checked the frame ID & number, it's about '85 and its actually got new tyres, chain brake pads and what looks like completely refurb rear end suspension bushes/bearings. Result!
The plan is to take part in a few sprint meetings and RWB meets at the pod and Avon park next year. I've not looked too deeply into the rules so at this point I don't know what is allowed in each class, if all goes to plan eventually I will replace the running gear with something upto date but keep the old skool looks. The ultimate goal,is to have something like the stuff I used to read about in street fighters in the '90's. Big bore gsxr/gsx 1100, turbo & nitrous
Sold some stuff on eBay so treated myself to a few bits to get the project started, GSXR complete system with race can, GSXR1100 foot rests, brakes & gear change. After some research on t'internet found out CBR250 has the same diameter forks, going to use these to replace the factory ape hangers currently fitted.
Originally wanted to use all the original plastics to keep the original '80's style but after weighing up the cost and the fact I don't want to carry passengers I'm going down the solo race seat route. The seat in the photo has been in the roof of the garage for a few years and I'd forgotten about it, it's not the best for this and may get replaced before it's finished but it's what I've got for now so it will do
Done a deal with my brother in law and got the nitrous kit back off of my old bandit so I will at some point be fitting this hopefully
I want to fit bigger carbs probably from a GSXR or Bandit but not sure if they will fit? Any advise will be appreciated.
