I take ages doing anything due to work, but I have made a little progress. I had a thread on OSS, and there's a shorter version HereI've done loads of little bits since, but nothing very exciting really. Below is a pic from today. Not because there's much to see, but because I want to show off my new lift that arrived today : ) I couldn't really afford it, but that's what late night Ebay can do to you! Modified a yoke to fit original clocks. Started off as a gsxr750 slabby yoke with an ignition barrel ring at the top and several protrusions at the bottom. Cut off loop for barrel and milled the bottom flat. Drilled holes for bolts to mount original clock bracket. Sand, Polish, a few small washers and a penny washer and there you go.

Thanks Ash. Pleased with the lift except it had no tie down points and I don't know what that front wheel clamp is supposed to do. I've added some tie down loops which you can just see on the pics below (they're not as spindly as they look) and swapped the clamp for my front wheel chock/stand thingy. Still not made me able to produce bikes like you and the other geniuses on here, but it stops my bike falling over while I fiddle about with it ! Fitted the yoke and placed tank and fairing on to see what it looks like... (quick tip, after spending ages hand polishing aluminium, make sure when you knock it on with your leather hammer, you don't accidentally pick it up and hit it with the copper side!!!..... I swore, I sanded, I re-polished) Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Was so fed up with work today I tok a couple of hours off to go and tinker in the garage. Cleared my mind brilliantly and amongst other things made a simple bracket to hold a choke lever..... Problem is, I forgot I was using the gimbel seat and so its hidden away (good thing) and a bit awkward to use (not such a good thing). might make a different one if I have another stressful day tomorrow! (Lever is off a fzr600 from memory)

Fed up tonight so nipped out to the garage. Took the choke lever off and swapped it to the diagonally opposite position on the LHS front and it fits and works perfectly. While I was on a roll, I fitted the battery, turned the key.... Dash lit up.... pressed the little button and it turned over!! So now the worlds a better place again.
ps. Like that shock Busaash. There are lots of sad people like me who ignore glittery paint jobs (like my frame ahem) and notice care and attention like that.

Sorted out the spacers on the rear spindle and all runs true now. Moved the torque arm mount on the swingarm from top brake to under brake. GSXR1000 caliper (new bargain off the bay). Caliper mount from my pile of random spares! Torque arm is off a GSXR of some sort from memory. I'm not sure about the jazzy disc, but its the only one I've got (I've got an old plain one, but its used and not pretty ). Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I bought a 816 Wiseco kitted set of barrels. Blasted and painted them. Fitting later this week with luck.
