Hay there guys, I'm going to need a little help, the carbs on my bandit 6 are knackered but iv managed to get hold of some gsxr750 slingshot carbs, has anyone done this swap over befor? I know I May have to swap the inlet rubbers over and i'll be running cone filters as I know that the bandit airbox defiantly won't fit on the gsxr carbs, any help or advice will be appreciated, and . Will get some photos of my mongrel up soon

You need definately jk inlet rubbers. I would advise you to use them first as initially jetted and go from there.

Seems like you are making a rod for your own back. The bandit 6's aren't easy to tune right at the best of times. Swapping to gixer 750 carbs and then having to lose the airbox. You can't just whip out the airbox and fire in a set of individual cone filters. This setup feeds in a huge amount more air over the standard airbox/filter. To get the air-fuel correct, you would have to up jet the carbs. Once this is all done then you'd need to address the exhaust, might need a new end can maybe a freer flowing system. What seems like a cheap option i.e. gsxr750 carbs maybe the more expensive option to get right in the end.

I've put some 38s with dual kn's on a B6 before and it took alot of time on de dyno (30hours runtime) mainjets 135 inside and 132 outside, stock needles on upper stand and the vacuum holes in the slide closed to 2X 1mm ,7° of ignition timing more compression and the cams were slightly retimed. to be fair it still runs "agressive" no cruiser! But hey, you need to make some sacrifices for a 100 hp B6.

sorry, been away for a couple of days, thankyou for your help and ideas and i would love to put a 750 motor in but cant afford to pay out that much.
right the whole reason i asked about this is because my b6 carbs are nackered (diaphrams streached, slides heavily worn, carb tops fractured, ect) so it would cost a fair bit to sort them out, i have managed to get hold of a set of 750 slingshot carbs for £65 and in bloody good order (cheapest iv found everywhere else £145) so i snatched them up
my bandit at the minute is running a full straight through system (delkevic headers, danmoto xg1 can), bandit 6 carbs (nackered) up jetted jacked needles ect, and modified airbox. as for the visual side of things she has a gsxr 100 swingarm and torque bar, k1000 racing shock and gsxr 750 full front end.

Look for a set of decent B6 carbs on our favourite auction website. Flog your Slingshot ones either there, or here. (And a fucking site easier)! Simples!
