My mate has a sv 650 he asked me today for advice changing the back wheel for a sv 1000 I'm sure it's difficult to change the swing arm due to the fact of the position of shock and exhaust so I think it would mean machining the back wheel any one got any knowledge on it

It is , but he's a young rider and wants to modify his bike how he wants it well that I can appreciate but how long has he been riding/how much ncd etc cause if he's a fairly new rider I can't see an insurance company liking the idea of a serious modification to his bike:-/ Not putting a dampner on the want to change the bike to how he wants but just trying to give a voice of caution:-)

I see your point but It's not a serious modification its a gsxr 750 back wheel and a turned down sprocket carrier , less serious than my Efe with a different front end , rear swingarm back wheel on a ageing frame but looks mint. we modify our bikes cause we can and with a air of caution check and double check our work , why put a turbo on a bike because we want to do it and shit our pants riding it and it looks cool

Ha ha no probs it's a nightmare to change swingarm on them as shock and exhaust run by it

This excites me. In ways that it shouldn't. I have a sv650s and have been looking for something to do to it. I didn't know you could fit a 1000 wheel. Does it take much doing? Just the eBay kit? What happens with the hugger? I would prefer to keep one on.

What it is you fit a gsxr back wheel you send your sprocket carrier and caliper hanger off for machining and its done but thats all I know mate
