Been looking around and doing a lot of reading and in seen a lot of different turbos being used. Obviously I know it depends on your target bhp but what turbos are people reliably running? Aiming for 200-300bhp what are your set ups?

I am running a garrett gt2259 with the optional .67a/r housing on my 1216, spools quick, doesn't seem to run out up top

My favorite is GT2860RS. I run 1.3 bar on fuel injected Bandit 1216. Dont know how much hp.

Buy a cheap ebay garret copy, they are great, don't believe the bullshit about them being rubbish, most of these tales come from Uk turbo sellers, a plain bearing e bay item costing £200 will do every thing you need. I've used several of them for a while now, no problems......Whilst talking about turbos, the R series ball bearing Garrets are very good, but I think its a lot of hype, I doubt very much that they are worth the big money......

Ball bearing turbos aren't for the budget-minded, but certainly a nice performance upgrade over a plain bearing one.

Ball bearing turbos aren't for the budget-minded, but certainly a nice performance upgrade over a plain bearing one. Only if you've got water in the engine! The cores really do need that cooling or the plastic ball cages just melt - i'd reckon even using oil cooling in a Gixer application would give them grief.......great turbo's though!
