Hi - just new to the forum, have some questions about the following bike. Its a Gixxer 750L that has a B12 motor fitted. Bike has been built for track days only. Goes OK but the B12 motor is totally stock......... A friend donated some 1989 Gixxer 750 cams to the project the other day, so these will be fitted up soon. From what I have read, it looks like I can just use the OEM cam sprockets from the B12 motor and bolt the 750 cams to these ? I also have some 41 mm Keihin flatties to bolt up to this motor, that should help it breathe a bit better. These carbs have already been jetted up for a 1200 motor, so should work pretty well. The dodgy old 4-1 is also getting the flick in favour of a decent Yoshi full system. I am hoping for about 130-odd hp at the rear wheel with these mods - is this a realistic figure ? I was also hoping to get a couple of tips from the experts here about this motor. 1 - Is it worth using a 3deg ignition advancer in this motor ? 2- Given the lighter frame and running gear - what would be the recommended dial-in for the cams ? I have seen a few different opinions about this, the OEM B12 cam sprockets will be slotted to allow some variation in the cam timing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I normally work on old-school K@w@s@kis so am not that famillar with the Suzuki oilers. cheers

Think the 41 s will be bit big for a stock ish bandit 12 motor . The 750 cams will make a little bit of difference top end . Going to be 125 ish hp If your looking for more HP then you really want to increase the compression as the stock motor is only 9.5 to 1 . 12 to 1 would be lot better .

Hes right you know,,,, i did one, stock b12 engine, dot 750 cams, standard carbs with k and n pods, set up on dyno, standard down pipes with a yoshi can, 122 rwhp, very revvy excellent fun, so i fitted the dot 750 head as well, 133 rwhp and more mod range and top end rush, excellent bolt on hp... only problem the inlet tract is steeper and the tank wouldnt fit with the cabrs in the way, had to mod the fuel tap to clear the carbs,, 750 cam with a good syatem, 125 -130 ish depending on the dyno
