Right,
i need to sort out the front end on my 7/12.
so its a 750J/K with the standard forks and rebuilt calipers and master with Braided lines.
The forks are badly pitted and have done another pair of seals while virtually sitting in the shed.(probably swarf or something i expect lol)
So, like most, i dont have much money, i am not really into bling, i just want forks that dont leak and good brakes.
I am ok with the stock nissans be honest but if i can wangle better calipers into the deal then killing 2 birds and all that ...
So, option 1 is rebuild my stock forks. This is good as its just spannering and i dont have to remake any thing. Cost $400 AUS
Or based on this budget, try and get something better. I already have some L/M Yokes so easy to fit some 50/54mm USD's.
The problem here is second hand stuff is a ripp off here in Aus so i have found 2 options here which could work.
1 is some L/M 750 forks, tripples, clip on's, calipers, master and spindle for $450. I could sell all the double up items and probably end up with a USD's fitted for $100 and will just need a muddy and a little work to fit the riser to the top yoke and re make the bikini fairing/clock mount.
2 is early Busa forks and Tripples (look cooler with gold anodising and gold looking chrome stanchions) for $300. Are these any better than the L/M forks? I beleive these will fit with a new top bearing. Is this right? My Nissans should fit these too. Also, can i fit my slingy wheel and speedo drive into them without too much drama. Like is it just some bushes and spacers to make the slingy spindle fit or is it Busa spindle and change the wheel bearings, bore out the speedo drive etc?
What are the suggestions for a good non monoblock USD's that get overlooked
Finally, what are the best non radial calipers that fit the gsxr's. I had a set of Tokico 6 pot's but sold them as everything i had read said they were sh#t and not worth worrying about. Beginning to think this was a mistake lol. So just wondered what the options were? They need to bolt on with no adapters as the rules here are real strict and i have pushed it enough i think.
Anyway, cheers fella's
