Afternoon all
Hopefully me and 3 Others Are planning our first TT run next year But where the hell do we start? Trying for a house rent may be but seems there all friends of friends who offer this?? Other idea was camping, has anyone used the pre set up sites? Or the camping pods? Any help would be great as it's took long enough for us to decide to go over!! Thanks Dan

I would book your boat as soon as possible, as already it will be half booked up.

Also look on the TT website. There are ads on there for people advertising for homestays etc...But like Ash sez, book the boat NOW, if you're not too late.

We always tried to book the freight boat from Heysham, the 1am crossing I think it was. Gets you onto the island around 6 am ish, and if things are still the same, it's slightly cheaper than the regular passenger ferry. It was sometimes a cramped journey though, with people dossing in corridors etc, good craic though.

If I remember correctly, you used to be able to just turn up at the ferry port, and take a chance on getting on a boat as a foot passenger. I did it the very first time I went over.We went just for the day, it's pot luck which boat you end up on though, we were lucky enough to get on the first one leaving when we got there. As for camping, can't help there, I've only ever been in b&b and home stays. Have you tried the official TT website ?

Hmm, maybe one of the IOM members will be able to point you in the right direction for camping, you may have to go over on a different date
