Does any one have any guides diagrams of frame bracing for the gs750. Got a 1000 engine to go into it so want it a bit better suited. I know the old site had some bracing guides not sure if the gs750 was ever covered.

I used this a basis for my 750 frame (I put an 1100efe lump in it). I didn't put the bracing at point F because I was concerned about access to the exhaust bolts and I didn't do D1 either. I used tubing rather than box section at brace E for aesthetic reasons. The box section at point C is not a problem as it is hidden by the tank. Note: The cross-bracing at point D will mean you need to cut down the battery box to a point where the standard battery no longer fits.

You have to weld a lateral brace in, on the 750 as it doesn't have one. The Kat frame in the picture does. Obviously you want this where it doesn't foul the exhaust bolts or engine mounts.

Can see that this frame bracing is a good idea in theory but do the old frames really need it, as surely the engine is a stressed member to the frame as well, headstock makes sense and stronger swinging arm ?

The GS1000 lump is actually lighter than the 750's due to the kick start mechanism, I run a 750 with a 1000 lump and it feels just fine. Only thing you will need is to make up some new engine mounts. If you need the drawings for the mounts give me a shout

used it as a guide on my Thou frame. Works a treat! having ridden my dads old gs750 and having some right old weaves I cant reccomend it enough! my Thou is rock solid in all corners :-) mind it also has a better arm and front end and wheels!!
