Can someone tell me the compression ratio of a gsx1100ef 1074cc motor please ? Also are the cranks welded like the late gasx1100et ? What hp is a standard one ? Thanks, Clive.

The stock 1100 compression ratio was 9.5 to 1. The cranks started being welded by the factory in late 82. Some of the 82 1100s came with the small end cranks already welded. All of the 83 & up were factory welded. Factory HP was 108, 1980-1982 & 112 in 83. The 83s got better cams. The EFEs had an even better cylinder head with bigger intake valves & intake cam. Ray.

Sorry, yes it is 1074cc. Think it is a 1100ed.

Turns out it is a gs1100e 1983. Was the comp on these also 9.5 to 1 ?

Yes, that's what the specification says.
