Hi all, Not sure if this has been asked before but i have seen a few items about putting GSXR wheels into GSX1100E front and rear ends. Are the Bandit 600 wheels an easy swap for the GSX1100. I beleive they share the same size of wheel bearing but not sure about which disc to go with, when i came across other wheel swaps on this site they used the GSXR wheel with 600 teapot disc. Can anybody out there tell me if i use bandit wheels which are the besyt discs to use. One other quick question for those that have changed the 16" front to 17", has it improved the handling in any way. pob1135

i swapped mine to 17" gsxr front and rear along with the forks and brakes and what a difference. the bike actually handles and stops now. well worth the time and money if you care about performance.

Hi gs1168, Thanks for the feed back, i was just going to do the wheels first with new shock and rebuilt front end and go from there. i see a few people change the wheels and keep standard running gear etc, but apart from looks and better selection of rubber will it be better. I am looking at a set of bandit 600 wheels to make the swap, what if any major problem will i have. pob1135

I run 120/70 on 3.5/17 front ; 170/60 5.5/17 (both GSXR1100)rear on my EF, the handling´s much better now ! front: Nissin 4-pots from Bandit, complete, and SV 650 discs rear: Teapot caliper & Bandit disc ... stops perfect ! It has progressive fork springs and a Wilbers rear shock ...

personally id swap the whole front end, that way u get everything- wheel, rubber, brakes and suspension(alot better than old air cooled technology, mines an '81) the rear is where the engineering comes in. depends what size wheel and tire u want (mine has 5.5" wheel and 170 tire, its tight,- max if u want wheel centered on '81 and before). you have to make new wheel spacers and move the chain out(offset front sprocket, 520 chain), i also used the gsxr axle and caliper on the rear of mine. a narrower wheel will be easier such as early slingshot 4.5"(? i think). im not sure about the bandit wheel sizes, u gotta check the width

You can fit a Bandit 1200 swing arm with out to much trouble. A little welding for shock mounts Looks good to
