Evening gang I have been busy so I will bring you up to date with lots of pictures and not many words I got some metal for the subframe and the cylinder head back with the bolts spark eroded out I had a few deliveries in and one of them was this akra can and link pipe which was a mystery purchase from ebay as the seller put no details on the description. I got it for about £50 I tried it with the titanium headers that I had reshaped to fit the 750 and it fitted straight on. And then wedged into place on the bike

I needed my torque wrench to put the head on the engine and remembered that it was in my friends garage when I house shared with him about 8 - 10 years ago, whilst I was there I had a bit of a forage and found a few other tools, an rc car and a mountain bike that were also mine (I think there is still more) I nailed the engine back together and helicoiled the exhaust threads John

The engine was pretty grubby so on sunday I carried it out onto the scabby drive and gave it a good scrubbing The paintwork isn't too bad so I will just paint some of the covers as I plan to get an 11 to put in it after the summer. And then attacked the remains of the subframe to make a start on the refitting of the rgv seat unit I welded some scrap bits of tube in and tested the position on the bike, I have to get some more steel and make a better mounting point but it allowed me to test out my design before do some more substantial work. Im off to the metal shop tomorrow and have got a free evening on wednesday so I plan to get it fitted properly then. Once the subframe is fitted I will refit the engine. John

So I spent a few hours in the garage this week and worked on the subframe mounting. First of all I made some much bigger frame extensions. Then I lined up some brackets i made and tacked them to the bike. I have never really TIg welded before so the welds are ugly but its a learning process. My mate popped over to help me manhandle the bike into submission. John

This afternoon I got the bike out and gave it a good scrub ready for the engine refitting. These were fitted but I will be fitting stick coils. John

What's the standard bracing points on the 750 frame then? I'm going to have to get lots of practice with the tig before I weld more onto the frame!

I have been working in Scotland all week but I have a few picture updates, I made part of the subframe mounts And bolted them into the frame, I have got to drill and bolt the other end of them next I just need to check the subframe angle first Then this turned up in the garage to help me, but she just stood in the swarf under the lathe so I had to put her back outside. And I bought a few new tools to help with the mods john
