found a way to get round the bad fitment of the GSX14 rear caliper hanger was at my mates house and looking at his TL1000s, noticed that it had a small disc like my Hyabusa wheel, then noticed that it was the same spindle size too. so quick trip to E-bay and got a TL1000 hanger for £12 cam in today, so straight to the shed for a quick attempt at fitting. goes on with no problem, will just get my friend the machinist to bore it to accept the wheel spacer and job is done. just need to get it powder coated then. after getting it back together i checked the chain run, all looks close enough to me

sorted out some alloy, made some h/lamp brackets out of 1.5mm just for test patterns, then fitted the lamp. seems to be in the right place, not too far forward, about the right height. got my dash out to see what it went on like just as it is, still thinking of mounting it inside a GS clock housing, although i like the look of it like this.

after much thought and comments from other guys, i have moved the brackets so they are now pointing forwards and level. then moved the h/lamp closer to the forks and down a bit. then cut the excess off and shaped them also played around with the dash, looks like i will have a bit of a gap between the two! might have to see about finding some way of sorting that. but all things considered i think it now looks much better, will look to get some plate ones made, should look even better with them done

played around with the design of the mounts today, slimmed the front end down, looks much better. talked to my mate who is going to machine the mounts out of 16mm billet on his milling machine for me.

started tonight with dropping off the pattern for the h/lamp brackets at my mates, and also collecting the rear brake hanger that has had a spacer made for it. spacer is a tight press fit, put it together after removing the unwanted flanges, casting marks and fitted to the bike, just what it needed. then spent some time modifying the chain guide rubber so it would move over in line with the chain. then secured it in place. and as i had some throttle cable inner sat around looking for a home, i set about replacing the throttle cable that came with the bars as it was frayed and kinked. cut it to length, soldered two nipples on and adjusted it, now works a treat.
