So that then means no link to info on this site as it's nothing to do with oss? Saying this has/was/is nothing to do with oss imo is a little ott. It's just we all prefere this to crapbook. this is temporary OSS. Which means that when the new site is online, this site stops being OSS. I know, but the way I interpreted the last post was this site will be a forbidden zone as in no mention or link regardless of what the name has to change too. If this remains just for reference rather than any further posting that would surely be a good move?

I don't think anyone had ever suggested otherwise?

While it's true this forum could continue to run there would be some strict cavets in place. 1.The name would have to change. 2.All logos and devices associated with the URL oldskoolsuzuki.info would have to be removed. 3.Any and all references to oldskoolsuzuki.info or OSS or inference that the site was associated with oldskoolsuzuki.info would not be possible. 4.All and any merchandise bearing the above logos and devices could no longer be sold via the site. In short as long as the site made no attempt to pass itself off as OSS the site and all who sail in it are free to carry on as before. In the last week we have spoken to both Mr 711 and PP ( the founders of OSS)and both are very happy with the direction we have taken OSS in. That is why the ownership of the URL was signed over to the us. Suffice to say the URL was not surrendered to the pinboards forum. I think that speaks for itself. Whatever it is you have here it is not OSS. So in short do what you like, say what you like, ride what you like but you won't be doing it under an OSS banner. for clarity. So, "We" have decided "We" want to go back to the old site and are going to kill this one off. Sorry, I missed that poll. Was it in "General ?" What about the ethos OSP.info will follow ? Will it revert back to strict "core values" or will it expand to include bikes related by engine family ? I hate to say it but I detect a wiff of dictatorship on the breeze. Good start for the owners of a "New" site that want us all to follow. I'm not against the move but it all appears to have been done and dusted in the corner of the room before word was said. The remaining members are then told with a "like it or......" manner. A full explanation of the deal would clear a lot of things up. BDR59.

I don't think it matters what this forum is called....at the end of the day this place is what it is. It's friendly, it's informative, there are a lot of members who can take the piss, and at the same time have the piss taken out of them ! There are some uber cool bikes on here, and some uber cool engineers/mechanics, call them whatever you like. I can see no reason whatsoever that this place can't carry on as it is, apart from the name of course, that is no problem to me. I shall be signing up to the new site to see what the craic is, if it's gonna be run like it was on the old site, then I simply wont be visiting as much, as some of you may know, I had a 'teddy out of the pram' moment on the old site and left, due to the way it was moderated - and looking back now, I can see why it was moderated that way, but I didn't agree with it, so I left. I was well chuffed when this place came back though, I think without the influence of people who don't even post here it will be even better. So, lets think of a new name between us, and make this place our own...

I'll be signing up to the new/old site but I wouldn't like to see this one disappear. How about OldschoolSuzukis with a fifteen year rolling cut off date ?

I'm trying very, very hard to stay outta this... but Is it really possible to have some legal claim on the words "old skool" and "suzuki" when used together, as they are 'ere?. What's to stop someone using oldskoolsuzuki .org .com .uk e.t.c ... just curious

I'm not sure it'll work out long term, it'll just become a "them and us" as it appears faceache become. My personal take on it, I will just continue to do what I do and don't do what I don't do, I'm a creature of habit regardless of the politics/ownership/Suzuki police behind it. It will be what it will be, take it or leave it. Whoever pulls the strings know that the success of it will be down the folk on it, piss off too many and they'll simply walk away, we don't need it to live, only to benefit from the advice or help gained from it, including new friends and enemies! Hats off to those that have a desire to run it/police it/moderate it, it is their time and their choice, as it is everybody that chooses to join it. If the new site continues to have the same feel as this one, it will thrive and I hope it does.

This is just a bike related internet forum. Nothing important so to say. If things are moved, they are moved. It has been announced at the very first day of this temporary place. So what? Guess we'll have roughly the same bunch of moderators then as we have now. So I do not expect much of a change in that case. Back to Ash's question: I don't think it makes sense to have a competitive forum here with just a different name. There's already places around like that. OSP has been mentioned and there's also ACS, which isn't very vivid, unfortunately. What I want to say is: no need to dig trenches. See you on the new site hopefully. There more of you the merrier.

I like this one I must admit , my mates are on here I have a good laugh it's easy use , if I need a hand I get help , I help others out if I have parts in the garage it's a good circle of decent folk that love suzukis, but all the ones I have a laugh with have got my mob number so I can keep in contact another way, I'm not fussed on losing OSS logo or anything do with it as long as it's not called I love big dicks

All I have done is to establish the parameters and the scope of the question asked by Ash. Members can hardly be expected to give an opinion if they don't have all of the information to allow them to do so. My statement clearly lays out the scenario whereby this forum continuing without being an archive of the new site. The alternative is it becomes part of the new site as planned.
