Hey Bloke, the replacement for that rear master is no good for me - what's the part number on yours so I can keep an eye out for one s/h? I'll have to email a pic of mine to AP Racing & see what they can tell me, I'll do that over the next few days. Malwelder for sure copy anything you want, even better improve on it & post up what you do 7Woke up knowing what I had to do so got straight into it... Need to get a decent linisher, would save a lot of time, I had a smaller belt sander which was not up to the job & died a long while back, find work arounds & clamping a piece of alloy in a vice like this & using the file as shown along the length instead of across it you can get a good edges that are not wedged, used a grinder with a cutting disc to rough out the shape first. Good enough. Held in place, not that you can see much... where the bolt head is it clears the frame, exhaust & rearset so easy access. The 'UP' was from a few years back when I had the extensions welded in. One tab on the swingarm will cover all the spindle movement in the extension slot by winding out the rod ends & tilting the caliper, which I had thought looked the case yesterday. All I need to do is make sure that the brake line 'loop in' & 'loop out' have enough length to enable the rod ends to adjust fully. Picture does not do it justice, looked ace running the longer wheelbease. Drilling the alloy torque arm for where the banjo bolt stubs will attatch. As you can see it will work like this. Swingarm out & off to the alloy welders.. and then to work... Think that's the hardest bit, having to stop & go somewhere else ! But I guess that pays the bills...

Hi ALAN, just seen pic of your engine and was wondering what make is the top oiler kit and where did you get it from as I need one for my ET.Any info would be gratefully accepted. Thanks ALAN. I got the kit from Warspeed Racing, there is some info on their website warpspeedracing.co.uk Remember that my engine in an 1100 EFE. I'm running GSX750ET oil pump gears & I'm not an engine guy so this following explanation might be technically incorrect but someone else on here will know... Roger Upperton who built the engine did block off two of the feeds in the crankcases by tapping them & inserting grub screws. Debben performance did use to show on their website 'plugs' for this purpose & I was going to include a picture here but they seem to have a new website that does not show them. Hope that helped ! 6Ash what you posted made me laugh ! But I must get 10 out of 10 for effort Of which... got home about 10.45pm from work last night & stayed up till 1am measuring & working out some parts, up early this morning, actually got in the workshop & started work at.. The AP caliper does not fit with the mounting points on the Harris rearset that I am using, as this picture shows. Plan is to cut off that part of the rearset off where the angle of it changes & replace it with this which I made, can also see the card template that I used. So ignoring that I have not cut the rearset in this picture, this is how it will work. Made the plate for the Dyna 2000 to bolt to (the whole of the electrics tray is rubber mounted) if I had more time I would have cut a big circle in the middle of the Dyna plate or have got Super to mill one, my hole saw system can be a bit crude for a nice edge finish. When welded in place will work like this. Started to strip the anodising from the fork legs. Ran out of time for that job as needed to get out the door to drop the forks off at RAD Motorcycles to have the seals changed & drop the above parts at the alloy welders, so that I can collect all that tomorrow as Saturday is showtime in London smiley-shocked029 Collected swingarm which has had the hydraulic torque arm welded up & also the torque arm tab welded to the swingarm. When I had my Racefit exhaust made they had mounted it using a filler plate in between my rearset & the frame, it worked but also spaced the footrest out more one side, the alloy welder cut the bottom section off of that sandwich plate & welded it direct to the Harris rearset. A good day, need another one tomorrow !

Al just an option,,But if you have a vice which fits your lathe you could just buy end cutter mount it in chuck, and hold material in vice and save a lot of filing, but depends on how many more brackets you will be fabricating,

Get up stupid early & work crazy all day but about 10.30 PM Banoffee rang me to say that OSS had pulled out of the show. There is a thread already on this & it was done for the right reasons. In truth it helped me out, there was a danger I would have to build the rolling chassis up with unfinished parts, of course spend all of Saturday down in London & then Sunday taking a lot of parts off to finish them & put them back on. What I really should be doing with Wednesday fast approaching is just build it once, so I won a bit more time. Did a lot of running around today instead which will save me time over the next few days, good things happening on Saturday Got my seat back, this pic is with it loosely next to the tail piece, they did not want to balance together which is why there is a gap in the fit, Stevea did a really good job trimming it. Picked up parts from the alloy welder & spent an hour or so on the files smoothing the welds out of the rearset brake master cylinder mount (see yesterdays post for more details). This is a really busy picture but you can just about tell that the rear master cylinder almost lines with the frame, if Porky is reading this he'll ask me if that was by accident Electrics plate with Dyna mount welded. Lovely weld hidden in there.. Lastly big mention to long time OSS member Simon Holland who recently had an argument with a car & is having to spend a few months not able to do much at all whilst he hopefully makes a full recovery. I know that he has been reading this & sends me the coolest postcards... Get well soon Si !

4 (Saturday) Ahh best laid plans, had arranged for a friend to help me at 4 o'clock this afternoon get the engine in the frame & then fit the front & rear ends. Had to postpone that for Sunday morning, getting the powder coating off the frame & anodising off the forks & swingarm just took too long. As I ran out of money to get the frame blasted & powder coated had decided to just run it as bare metal for now which meant stripping it by hand. Any kind of grinder will not work as the powder coat gets warm & smears everywhere & clogs / loads the grinding disc / flap wheel. Had to use paint stripper to soften in, scrape most of it off with a razor blade & only then get rid of the last bits with a wire brush in a die grinder... Still a bit on the top tube bit will leave that as it's under then tank. Forks & swingarm ready for the polishing mop tomorrow.
The whole workshop & I think me ended up covered in all this shite, was up till almost midnight sweeping it all up so I didn't have to walk into 'it' Sunday. Finished the lockstops on the frame first thing, when I was looking for something to use as the 'stop' on the yolk I found some ARP fastners that were the remains of a kit I used on my Chevy, used one of them, stainless hex. These are the bits I added to the headstock which work with the flats on the hex's.

3 (Sunday) At last finished the frame, couple of threaded earthing sockets, one behind the engine & the other in the tail piece. My good friend Mark showed bringing tape & a tool to get the engine in... Been to the TT Races with Mark 4 or 5 times, he crashed a GPZ900 in front of me one year. Can't tell you how good this looks with the bare frame, body kit & engine paint, needs to go to the TT ! I'd stripped the anodising off the sides & tops yesterday so time to drag the polishing machine out. But first some sanding. Shiney enough for me because I going to scotchbrite it anyway, did a test & got a lovely smooth finish. Regreased all the bearings, bushes & bolts. Right off to bed...
