Bike was bought with 26K miles on it and after 10K miles commuting a year for five years it was looking a bit over the hill. A leaking oil cooler revealed the frame brace at the front of the engine to be rotten through. Sorry no before pics, but believe me it wasn't pretty. This is how it stands at the moment. The idea was for a no frills simple build with keeping as many standard bits as possible to keep the spending low. Didn't happen. Extended arm, everything powder coated, far east rearsets, new tyres, bars, oil cooler and fittings etc, etc. Anyway, I'm happy enough up to now as to how it's going. Had to weld a breather into the tank as I've bought a foreign filler cap. I've a GSXR rear shock away at the moment getting refurbished and sealed so that will be back soon. Time is short as I was hoping for it on the road earlier this year. I've still got no further with my gsx1100efe turbo project which was on the old site but hoping to soon. Will keep you updated as work progresses. Gsxhartley

Too right Ash, still need brake hoses, battery, chain and paint. Oh well, money never made anyone happy or so they say.

I cheated with my breather... simpler, likely less effective mind with installing a check valve / tip over valve though or the mot man may get shirty. Mark

Got a text to say the rear shocks been fully rebuilt by Dave at Brookes Suspension so will pick that up next tuesday. Hopefully my mates dropped of the bodywork for painting. It's all go at the moment but as I'm away drinking vino in summery climes I'll have to be patient. Where did you get your one way valve Mark as it seems like a good idea? Bloody hell it's hard work in this heat looking at all the scantily clad talent walking about.
Regards, Dave h

Regards, Dave h one way valve bought off ebay. it is a tip valve so it locks shut when the bikes falls. supposed construction and use regs requirement. Motul make them fromn memory. Cheap from torques.... well half the price I paid anyway.
Torques are on ebay. excellent place to get fittings from basically.

I've used Torques for all my cooler fittings Mark and am reasonably impressed especially with the prices compared to other companies. Will have a look today. Thanks for the info. Regards, Dave h

The refurbished shock is back from Brookes suspension and Dave's done a great job with it. I also received a short can which I've just got to make a short link pipe for. Mate didn't drop off the paintwork so that sucks. No doubt have some excuse. All for now. Dave h
