it will have engine mount and shock mount on same tube so was wondering if i need thicker but efe is only 4mm thick so maybe im just being abit to over cautious lol Engine mounting at this point will not put much stress on tube as several fixing points to engine spread torsional forces (under load). Thicker tube not allways the answer it depends on bracket design and possible extra bracing or gussets to supporting mount.

Nice project you have there. I have a question, the braces for the frame are they chopped out from another frame ? What shock is that ?

Nice project you have there. I have a question, the braces for the frame are they chopped out from another frame ? What shock is that ? the two small braces on side of frame are from original foot hangers from kat. the brace behind shock and lower tube for bottom engine mount and shock mounts are seamless steel tube 30mm od/5mm wall the bracing across subframe are seemless tube 23mm od/3mm wall and the plate for top shock mount is 8mm steel and the shock mounts are 8mm steel. i believe the shock to be of a zxr as it says kawasaki could be zx9r

starting to come together and flat bar,s are more comfy than clip-on,s [when you are getting on in year,s ha ha] smileycrutch thats true im only 25 and struggle riding my rf900, fell down while carrying a b6 motor 2/3 years back ever since then lower back problems , i tried clip-ons on the kat and i was stretched to far forward and carrying a pillion would make it worse when they shunt you up the tank lol so flat bars it is

few more things done had slight issue with chain running over top of swingarm to front sprocket so changed from a 15t to a 18t to get that bit more clearance, 18t is biggest front sprocket to fit a b12 motor anything bigger hits clutch pushrod. original sprocket setup on a b12 is 15t/45t so thats 3 to 1 ratio new setup is 18t/52 so ratio is now 2.89.
