I have a oscillating valve lapping tool that fits in a drill takes seconds to reseat a valve. also have sykes picavant valve spring collet and fitting tools. Makes doing thhe valves a hell of a lot quicker and easier also the job is done before you start to loose the will to live.

Finally got the laptop running so I've just looked at the manual before I continued & removed the head. I don't understand any of it . There's lots of wear to be measured etc & there's all terms I'm confused by. Jeez, the LC was child's play in comparison. I need more new tools aswell.

Got both of those, I fly rc heli's so need lots of both lol. However the laptops died again. So when taking the cams off do I mark the position? And does the chain reed putting back on the same teeth?

No and No. The cams are marked to set them in relation to each other, the gasket face and to the Crankshaft. You set the crank at its mark, likewise the cams and the chain just runs round them all - as long as there is little or no slack in the chain to the front, everything will be mint.

That's good to know, didn't see that mentioned in the manual although I did only look at dismantling so I was looking for some tippex lol. I shall crack on with removing them cams then the head then. Cheers

Ok, how the f... Do I undo the bolt on the front of the head? The frame prevents a socket being used & a spanner will just slip? It looks like the only way is to remove all the mounting bolts & move the engine to get clearance.

A trip to halfords & one new ring spanner later it was removed. Now how much persuasion does it require with a rubber mallet? Dam it's stubborn, it wiggles but that's it & I fear breaking something.

A bit to very much persuasion, depends on millage, you will be about halve hour busy with the rubber mallet. Try on the up corners of the head harder and all around it softer, be gently with the mallet cause if you hit the fins hard per accident them will break

The fins are what I'm worried about, I've been hitting the mid Pannell mount & that nut at the front.
